It's been 2 months since I last posted, so I have a ton to catch up on, but due to time constraints and lack of patients I'm going to keep it short and sweet and make an unambitional promise to maybe post again sometime within the same month ;)
So as everyone now knows, I'm pregnant! Dan and I found out back in February (turns out we got preggers on Friday Feb 13th....ooooooohhhh) LOL but kept it quiet for the first 10 weeks.
Easter weekend back in April was when we decided to drop the big news on everyone. Dan had the brilliant idea of getting Easter cards for each member of our immediate family that had they're new titles on it, so there was some Happy Easter Grandma's and Happy Easter Uncle and Auntie cards given around the Easter dinner table and left to see how long it would take for everyone to catch on ;) Very very cute reactions all around!
I'm currently 18 weeks pregnant and feeling really good...finally! From week 6 to week 13 there was lots of vomiting and nausea to be had which left me feeling miserable for a long time...and you would never believe how hard it is to try and keep a pregnancy secret when you're terrified of barfing infront of people all the time! (and trying to explain why I have soda crackers packed away in my purse at all times....LOL....) After a little scare with high blood pressure I have been taken off working the night shifts at work which is a wonderful relief as that was the only time I would truly be ill. But now that I'm a day's only lab tech gal I can happily report that Baby and Myself are healthy again :)
This week also marks the first big ultrasound (the last 2 that I had at 4 1/2 weeks and 7 weeks resulted in us looking at a shrimp looking sea monkey on the screen..which was cool, but not very baby looking!) it also marks the ongoing battle of whether or not we will find out what the sex of the baby is...Dan has his heart set on finding out whereas I really really want it to be a surprise (yes I'm one of the few people on the planet that loves all the yellow and green androgenous baby wear!) Dan is sure that he'll be able to keep it a secret from me for the remaining 4 and half months, but I'm not super convinced. He so wants a boy that if the tech tells him that it's a boy he'll come walking out of the Dr's office like the Chesire Cat and will give the whole thing away anyways....so we'll see. The Battle ensues, but I have a feeling that I'm losing ground....
Sadly this week we say Goodbye to a beloved friend and family pet of 16 years. Tessa Cat, whom we've had since I was 8 years old has been slowing down the past year and has acquired heart problems and some lumps all associated with growing old. The past week and a half she has stopped eating and hardly drinking and so is basically starving herself to death. So heartbreakingly we made the family decision to put her to sleep this week as she is in constant pain and discomfort. We will miss you little girl xoxox
On a different note entirely, before I start bursting into tears at work, our house...good God...the every lasting projoct of DIY Home Renovations! All the new parts of the extension are liveable and I fear that's where are problems start, because all the new furniture is in and the walls are painted and we can live in all of them, it's alot easier to stop noticing all the touch-ups and finishing odds and sods that are left to do. This is driving we around the bend and is making my skin crawl as I have this so called "Nesting" Bug BAD! I've already torn apart my kitchen from ceiling to floor and scrubbed every cupboard, drawer, cabinet etc...it is now immaculately clean (counterspace not included!) same with our guest room where Jocelyn has been living over the past month, it got taken apart and scrubbed and dusted and now it;s clean.....but it's the rest of the house that I want to get my hands on...but it's filled wtih materials or tools that are now too heavy for me to lift or it's "clutter" that in my eyes can be gotten rid of but in Dan's eyes they are precious trinkets from days gone by! I keep telling him that there is no way On God's Green Earth are we to have any renovations still on the go once the baby arrives (not even 1 month before!) but we'll see how far we get... basically I'll believe it when I see it hahaha....;)
Ok so for a short and sweet catchup, this actually turned out to be pretty long! HAHAHA enjoy cuz not doubt it will be another 2 months before I get my butt on here again to update :-)
